Scope and Contents

From the Series:

This collection primarily comprises reel-to-reel and cassette audio recordings of lectures delivered by Heinrich Blücher at The New School and Bard College during the 1950s and 1960s. All audio recordings have been digitized and are accessible through linked digital objects in the Audio Series of this finding aid, each accompanied by AI-generated transcripts. In addition to the audio materials, selected lectures—such as Ethical Confusion and Moral Corruption and Sources of Creative Power—are also available in paper transcript form. The collection also includes one of Blücher’s personal notebooks, a selection of his handwritten notes and articles, and photocopies of various Blücher papers from the Hannah Arendt Collection at the Library of Congress. These photocopies were compiled by Alex Bazelow ’71, a former student of Blücher.
